Scholastic Magazine Subscription for Ms. Nagata's English Classes

Help me give my students a classroom set of scholastic magazines designed for high school kids, especially reluctant readers. I plan to use this subscription to help prepare students to create our yearly classroom magazines.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Nagata's classroom raised $298

My Project

I teach 9th and 10th grade English Language Arts to some amazing neuro-diverse students, many of whom are on the spectrum or have other unique learning challenges.

English Language Arts is rarely the favorite subject of any of my students, because many struggle with reading or writing or both.

With that in mind I try to create high-interest reading and writing assignments.

One of these is the creation of our review magazines, where students write articles about games, books, and series they enjoy, and design the pages for a published classroom magazine. This magazine subscription from Scholastic will help students get a feel for magazine design and layout, as well as provide non-fiction reading experiences.
