My students need to know what's going on in the real world around them! We try to make Reading interesting and fun; why not combine the two with a Scholastic News!

My Students
Most of our students only hear negative things happening in the world around them, if they hear anything at all. Understanding what happens outside of our walls is especially important for my students who struggle to interact socially.
My students are part of a third and fourth grade combination class.
They need assistance not only in academic areas, but socially and behaviorally as well. We are a small bunch, eager to learn everyday! As part of our social component we try to bring the real world to the students and help them interact appropriately.
My Project
We envision using the Scholastic magazine to learn about the world around us in a fun and exciting way! Our students can read the stories on their own or with a friend and we can come together to discuss current events. There is no limit to where our minds will take us once we get into these stories!
We believe that even a simple conversation can impact a student.
We want to keep them positive and interesting, which is why we look to use tools such as the Scholastic Magazine. We want our students to have something to talk about with family and friends that they enjoyed learning about.
