My students need a pull down projection screen and a DLP projector in the classroom to be exposed to the wonders of technology.

My Students
Can you imagine being in a classroom where your teacher had to post a large white paper on the chalkboard in order to project computer images to your fellow classmates? This is the day-to-day experience that my students and I share in the classroom.
As you can see from the picture, my students have the ability to work hard and create anything if given the necessary resources and tools.
At our school, my students actively participate in spoken word projects, robotics competitions, athletics, and the arts (i.e. dance, choir, etc.). Considering the limited amount of resources we have school-wide, I am fortunate that our students still maintain a burning desire to be the best scholars that they can be.
My Project
Imagine students being in a classroom environment that reflects the technological generation in which they live and is still conducive to their learning. Imagine students using social media to share their positive learning experiences in the classroom and as a discussion forum to ask questions about skills and concepts they learned in Math or Science class. Imagine parents being able to tweet their child's teacher to find out about tonight's homework assignment or to get an update on their child's academic progress. These are just a few of the possibilities that CAN exist if my students have access to new technology in the classroom. Textbooks, notebooks, pens, and pencils still have great value in the classroom but technology IS the motivating force for student learning. With that said, I have requested a pull-down projector screen and an LCD projector so that I can expose my students to fun and interactive websites that will help improve their Math & Science skills in class.
Students and their parents will experience the following benefits through this project:
- More interactive and engaging classroom lessons
- Additional options for project-based learning
- Improved collaboration between teachers, students and parents
- Exposure to educational websites and applications that will help students enhance their Math and Science skills.
By donating to this project, you are telling my students that their education STILL matters and you STILL believe in them. :o)
