This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This school year, I have been blessed with a very enthusiastic bunch of fourth graders who are eager to learn. The only thing that seems to stand in their way is the label of being economically challenged. Not having the proper finances, often keeps my students from having proper or sufficient class materials, money for field trips and sometimes it even prevents them from having the proper reading or class materials to take home to complete assignments.
My scholars deserve the opportunity to be the best they can be in all that they do, no matter their economic or social status.
My Project
My students were blessed to receive Kindle Fires through a Donors Choose project that we had funded last school term. This year we need the cases to protect the Kindle Fires from students accidentally dropping and damaging them. They were expensive, and it would be even more expensive to have to replace. We will be using these tablets for differentiated math and reading instruction. Students will be highly engaged and will also be able to have apps directly related to the skills they need.
My students love to read and practice math skills and it's important that we protect our Kindles, so we will have them to use all year.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
