My Students

At our elementary school, we have a large mix of learners. We are a Title 1 School with high energy and a huge focus on our community, current and cultural events, and positive, dynamic learning.

Every day we love to celebrate our learning and one way we do that is through our weekly news show, created and produced by our 5th-grade students.

Students learn about current events, both around the world and in our local community, along with a focus on a positive character education curriculum.

My Project

Our entire schools loves watching the weekly news brought to us by our excited group of 5th graders!

They use technology to create, edit, and share a collaborative weekly news broadcast with the entire school.

To develop a better news show, we want to eliminate shaky camera work with the use of an iPad stand and use a new iPad to improve the video quality. They have been filming special and cultural events, in-house field trips, community service, character education celebrations, and everyday life in our school. We want to continue to create a quality news program, with the new technology we get from this project.
