Help me give my students a barcode scanner for self checkout, puzzles, and STEM challenges that make learning hands-on, engaging, and fun!

My Project

In our classroom, learning looks a little different—it’s colorful, hands-on, and full of creativity. My students thrive when they can move, build, solve, and explore, which is why tools like puzzles, pixel art challenges, and even a barcode scanner can make a big difference in their learning journey.

The barcode scanner may sound unusual for a classroom, but it’s actually a game-changer.

We’ll use it to check out books from our classroom library, track materials, and even create student-led “storefronts” and scavenger hunts that make literacy and math come alive. Kids love the “beep,” and it instantly makes reading feel like a big-kid job.

The puzzles (with themes like dogs, cats, donuts, and cupcakes) help students build patience, focus, and problem-solving skills while working together. They’re the perfect blend of calm and collaboration.

And the STEM Pixel Art Challenge sets let students practice math and spatial reasoning while designing creative, pixelated masterpieces. They sneak in problem-solving and critical thinking while kids think they’re just playing.
