This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our high school is a large urban school in NYC with close to 4000 students in attendance. Our library is the center of learning. Our students are in here completing school assignments, applying for college and looking for jobs.
Our high school has a varied population.
The students here come from a variety of economic backgrounds and cultures. Over 15 languages are spoken here and we are fortunate enough to have a variety of programs for our diverse population. We are the only NYC public school that has a working farm and agricultural program.
My Project
Our students will use the copy machine and scanner in order to complete college and job applications. Students will be able to submit copies of various documents for these endeavors. With a scanner and color copy machine students will be able to complete their various school projects that require personal photos and primary source materials.
This project will make a difference to our students because they will have a place to not only complete their applications but the assistance of the school librarian to give them the guidance they may need.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
