SC Story Explorers is a reading initiative that I would like to use next school year to encourage students to explore all 20 of South Carolina’s award-nominated picture books. Students will not only read these high-quality stories but will also participate in meaningful discussions with different experts in our school building. Each time they have a discussion with an expert, they will earn a special brag tag, celebrating their progress and commitment to reading.
Not only will this project encourage a love for reading through exposure to diverse, high-quality literature, it will also build relationships with school staff, making the learning environment more connected and supportive.
In order to get this project up and running, I will need multiple copies of each book so that many students can explore these titles. My goal is to get all of my students reading high quality literature and to engage them in multiple discussions with different experts in our school.
