My Students

My school is an inner city school where the majority of the students receive free lunch. I am fortunate enough to teach the talented and gifted population. Students from across the city are selected for this program and come to my school to take part in this program.

Sharing ideas and presenting projects happens on daily basis.

Students learn a great deal from articulating their thoughts, sharing their ideas, and listening to others. Children benefit from exposure to good models for speaking and listening. They need to practice communicating effectively.

My Project

Speaking and listening skills are highly valued in my classroom. Everyday, students are sharing stories, poems, ideas, and questions. I notice that many students in my classroom speak softly and even mumble when speaking to the class. I often have to ask students to speak up or I have to repeat what they say.

With a classroom microphone and blue tooth speaker students will be able to share their ideas, stories, and questions so that the other students can hear them loud and clear.

The students will be able to speak directly into the microphone that comes with this speaker and the their voices will be heard through the blue tooth speaker. This will benefit the child speaking as well as the students listening. Students learn so much from each other, but if they can't hear much is lost.

I know that a classroom microphone and speaker will boost confidence in the speakers and increase learning for all.
