Help me give my students more understanding of the speech sound placement. Often, my students do better with visual cues for understanding of how the sound is made and need ink to print visuals, laminating pouches, and demonstration teeth.
My students range from preschool age through 8th grade. Each student is unique in their abilities, skills, interests and goals. Even with their differences, they all seek fun, engaging activities to learn and practice their communication skills! We laugh, play and grow together through our work.
My Project
This project is inspired by the "visual cue" for producing speech sounds. What better way to show a student that the back of their tongue needs to "hit" in the "back of mouth" for the /k/ sound, than to use a big mouth model that we can manipulate?! With this project, I can use the model to aide in my student's understanding and practice for their specific speech sounds. The book included in this project will give me additional ideas for eliciting the sounds my students are working on in therapy.
