My Students

Many of my students here at Jamaica Children's School are from the neighborhood.

My students are amazing!

They walk to school and look forward everyday for the connection of love and care that they experience at school from the moment they walk into the building.

My Students care for each other and take care of each other.

They can also be very talkative and playful and have developed great relationships with their peers.

They enjoy the company of their friends and never hesitate to talk about the special people in their lives.

They also display lots of pride for their school-JCS!

My Project

If my project is fully funded I would be so grateful! I will share how we are using the journals and how successful they have been!

In first grade it is important that students are practicing and learning their sight words.

Sight words are a very important part of the reading process. Many of these words are in the stories children in first grade are reading. Usually I have sheets that students use -that works but managing the sheets are a little problematic. I believe that the journals will be more manageable and students can do more with the sight words and I will be able to see each students progress.
