My students need 3 digital camera, with cases, batteries and memory cards.

My Students
"Everyone is allowed," is not a statement heard for most after-school activities. You need to try out or pay up for most opportunities. Our middle school yearbook staff is something that anyone can join.
Our yearbook staff is open to any 7th or 8th grade student in our school.
The part of the student population that would be most affected by this donation would be ones from our lower income households. I would like to be able to supply cameras to these students so that they feel more a part of the staff and truly make this activity available to every student.
My Project
I have one camera for the kids to borrow, but after many years of use it is not working as well as it once did. Also, over the years our staff has grown larger, but the number of students that have their own digital camera has not. Having three digital cameras for the students to sign out would make a huge difference.
Research shows that students that are involved in after-school activities have higher academic achievement and a reduction in at-risk behaviors.
Although I have a large number of students that sign up for yearbook, many students quit because they do not have their own camera. Getting these cameras would make a big difference in making kids that are not in any other activities a real part of something.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
