This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Children like many of us love to be photographed. They love to look at photos of themselves and their friends over and over.

I teach PreK at a Title I school with low socio- economic backgrounds.

98% of the students are English Language Learners and receive free lunch. Since many of my students are English learners, I have found using photography in our class projects to be a powerful tool. Students are often photographed throughout the year with various fun activities and settings. This is highly motivating for students to create their own books or develop their language skills during our sharing time. Photos are displayed in class where students feel a sense of ownership with awards such as being the Star Student of the Week, catching them being kind to their peers, their Lego structure, creating photo books and much, much, more! These photo opportunities develop the children's confidence and positive self-esteem which in turn provides a sense of accomplishment.

My Project

Providing this photo printer and ink cartridges will allow me to capitalize on these pivotal moments in class by being able to produce the pictures immediately. The children will be able to print their pictures, view them in books they will create, and around the classroom. Life-long, lasting memories, and learning!

Your help will ensure that my students will have their pictures in our print rich classroom environment that will encourage them to develop their language and have lasting memories.
