My students need a new Nikon Coolpix digital camera for our classroom motivational charts, and to post pictures on our classroom and school web pages.

I teach in a rural area in southern Indiana. We do many special classroom activities that are enhanced by photographs. Photographs are also a way we communicate to parents on our classroom, and school web pages.

We currently have a camera, but it is old and very slow. When we are taking pictures of the students in motion it is usually blurry. If we are taking indoor pictures the photos are usually dark and hard to see. If we want to zoom in or enlarge a picture the megapixels are so low that the characters in the photo are hard to identify.

I am asking for an updated camera that can take awesome pictures for our students. We can catch their long jump during field day. We can take pictures on our field trip to send home for the students to cherish. We can also share these pictures on the web page to inform the parents of our activities. We can take pictures of the classroom and school to use as writing topics. We can take pictures of the students with their grandparents on Grandparent’s Day to share with their loved ones. We can take pictures of outstanding science projects to share with future students. These are only a few of many ways that we could use a new digital camera.

A new digital camera would not only enhance the students education, but also give them a way to cherish their second grade memories.
