This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are English language learners in third grade. Most of my students are working below grade level and struggle with reading and writing.
Our school is a Title I school, and the majority of students qualify for free lunch.
My students come from a high poverty neighborhood with a very diverse range of home structures. My students are enthusiastic learners, eager to learn, but some of them do not have the necessary writing skills to create good writing pieces.
My Project
A picture tells a story just as well as a large amount of descriptive text. The photo printer plus accessories I am requesting will help engage my students in writing lessons. Writing can be one of the most difficult subjects for many of my students. By using photos they take of themselves, classmates, and the world around them, my students will have illustrations for their stories.
My third grade students have creative minds and just need extra assistance to get it into writing.
With your donations, the pictures that my students to take will come to life with the printer. They will be able to write about them this pictures in their journals. With this printer, the photos that they print will enhance their stories by making them more relevant to each individual.
