I teach 17 K3 Head Start students in a high poverty area. Each year, many of my students are just starting their first school experience. They are provided free breakfast, lunch and snack daily. My assistant and I work hard daily to provide our children with the basic academics, social, and emotional skills they need to continue in their educational journey. Our children are excited about learning and the activities used to help them grow; however, it's very difficult when materials are so limited. Young children need many choices and options readily available to be successful or creative. I love meeting the needs of my students and watching the excitement in their faces when they are successful at completing a task given.
My Project
Teaching during these modern times requires technology. This world is vastly changing and so are the demands in education. Although my students are three years old, I would like the opportunity to use updated technology as a strategy to reach their your minds.
This is an opportunity to teach my students how to create, design, build, visualize, and explore.
My students come with different learning styles, social and emotional behaviors, and ethnic backgrounds. This tool could help them to connect to our world and enrich their learning. For some of my students, this is their first learning experience, and I would like to make this experience one they can recall from year to year.
