My Students

Papers, Papers and more Papers... If you have ever had a child in an elementary classroom and asked yourself what is living in that desk? This is a problem we are facing in my 5th grade classroom.

My students are from an economically challenging community.

Many of them come to school with a single pencil and notebook. Very few of them have the necessary supplies for the school year. However, they are always eager to work hard. I currently have 25 students with a range of abilities. Many of them have on going organizational goals.

My Project

The students are struggling organizing their work. Therefore the organization station, and mail center will provide students an area for completed work and homework. It will be organized by their name, rather that our current system. This will make it much easier and more organized for the students. The additional supplies will be used to organize other areas of the classroom, including extra materials and centers. These storage materials are essential to cleaning up our classroom, and showing students the importance of organization.

These few organizational materials will directly impact my students.

They will have a place to put all their work, and have more room around the classroom. This will provide students with a more organized environment conducive to learning.
