Saving Theater Arts! Bringing Back Performances from the COVID-19 Era
Help me give my students a Fender Passport Event PA system to encourage theater arts and musical performances! It's Time to update our auditorium equipment that is over 30 years old not up to par.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help bring back theater and performances back to our school. Covid isolated us from connecting to other classrooms and the community. It's time to bring back school performances and brighten up our school. Help students in my classroom bring back theater performmances to the community. My school is located in the mecca of entertainment, yet our PA system does not represent it because it is over 30 years old and malfuntioning!
Musical theater gives students the ability to learn social-emotional skills and builds their confidence.
Students in my classroom put on annual plays and musicals that reinforce the concepts being taught in the classroom. Students who normally might be she are given the opportunity to break free from their shell through the dramatic arts. Each year I put on plays that go with our science or history concepts. our biggest roadblock is our equipment is so outdated and will not connect to anything via bluetooth or even play streamed music. Our sound cuts in and out, crackles, and is very inconsistent. By helping to purchase a new PA system, you not only help one classroom, but an entire school site that has not replaced it's system for 30 years.
We would use the Portable PA system to be able to hear in our Auditorium and out on the blacktop when we have our Math and Science Nights, and fire and safety drills, and morning assemblies. This will also allow us to take our plays outside to keep with social distance and keep our students safe.
