Saving Our Teachers: Overcome Burnout and Promote Self-Care PD

I need these resources to create a professional dialogue through meetings, emails and book discussion to help our teachers, in our school and district, manage self-care and overcome burn-out in the classroom.

My Project

Thank you for considering a donation to a project I would like to get funded for our school. We have lost a record amount of teachers over the last few years that has made my head spin, and I stopped to think, "What can I do in my school to stop this mass exit?" As a Lead teacher in our school, I often create book clubs and professional development meetings, as well as post daily emails. I feel that encouraging self-care and teaching tips to prevent burnout would be a much needed focus this year.

We are living through some pretty traumatic times these last few years, it is more important now than ever that teachers are supported and protected as they face the demands of the profession while meeting the needs of children.

We know that the teaching field is struggling to retain teachers and we have to begin healing and protecting some of the most important professionals in our country. I have two books listed to be purchased as a small group meeting for a Book Club during the year. I also have a few single books to use as Daily Email Tips to teachers, and three books that include guides and steps we can use in our scheduled meetings during the school year. I am also certified in yoga, and plan to bring it back as a free resource for teachers after school. Thank you for considering my project. I appreciate YOU.
