Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

As a third grade teacher, I have been trying to incorporate more technology into my lessons. Half of the students in my class are identified gifted and many others are high achieving. Since most of my students come from low income households, they don't all have the technology resources they need to keep up with other high achieving students.

In order to provide my students with more exposure to technology, I have been taking students to the school computer lab. They have been doing research, word processing poems, and will be creating PowerPoint presentations. Since students don't always have enough time in one session to finish their project, it is important for them to have the ability to save what they have been working on.

I would like to provide each student with a flash drive so they can save their work. This will not only save students' projects, but will allow them to become comfortable with another technological tool.

Your help in funding my project will truly help my students become exposed to more technology projects. They will learn to navigate through various computer programs and projects. Thank you for your consideration.
