This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Since COVID-19, the water fountains have been taped off and only accessible as water refilling stations. Unfortunately, a lot of my students don't have reusable water bottles to bring from home. My school has been so gracious to provide mini plastic water bottles for students, but these promote single-use and fill our trash cans to the brim with unnecessary plastic waste.
With Earth Day coming up, I want my students to feel they are making a difference in our environment.
My students have been leaders in the discussion of cleaning up trash on our own school grounds. They have been working hard to show their community the respect it deserves. With these water bottles, your generous donations would be providing them with more resources to do so.
With these water bottles, every single one of my students would have a reusable water bottle. Our trash cans will no longer tower with plastic, my students will have water bottles that hold plenty of water to get through the day, and we will be making a difference for our beautiful planet.
