This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With suicide being the second leading cause of death for youth 15 to 19 years old, it would be irresponsible to ignore this public health crisis in the educational experience. Though it is an uncomfortable topic, it is an important one. My goal is to raise awareness of the warning signs of suicide and the available resources. This will ultimately promote helping seeking behaviors so that those that need support can know where to find it.

Talking about suicide is uncomfortable for most teens.

Ice pops will lighten this discomfort and incentivize students to learn about the topic. The snacks, pins, stress balls will be given away to promote healthy coping.
