This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach fourth grade with a class of 29 in a greatly underfunded classroom and district. I have a wide range of needs and levels among my students.
In my overly crowded classroom during at least the first and last nine weeks of school the temperature soars above 90 degrees. To survive the heat our class uses some old, donated, and extremely noisy fans. To deliver instruction over the noise I find myself constantly straining my voice to be heard. So many times this doesn't work, and my students are left unable to hear me. The minute the students have to work to hear, their attention dwindles. This makes instruction very difficult.
A portable classroom sound system would aid communication in my classroom. My students would be able to hear me clearly and easily, thus helping them understand directions and content. This will lead to higher interest and learning.
Your help will radically improve the classroom environment and the exceptionally important learning that takes place there!
