My Project
My students mean the world to me; I love seeing them succeed, and I love when they share about what is most important to them. Something that I see in all of my students is a strong desire for family connection, and a deep need to give and contribute within their family units.
Unfortunately, many of the families I support do not have the financial means to afford large/elaborate holiday celebrations, and students are not always given the opportunity to buy gifts for the ones they love.
That's where Santa's Workshop comes in.
My dream is to transform our school's multi-purpose room into a winter wonderland, and provide students with the chance to choose meaningful gifts for the people they love and care for. Along with the items on this list, I plan to reach out to local churches and organizations for additional gift donations. The students will not be expected to pay for any of the items, but only need to show up and take a few items based on how many people they're shopping for. I hope to make this an incredibly memorable experience for all students that are able to participate in this event. While this is a large project monetarily, I know that the community impact will be far greater.
