My Students
My students are inner-city students in grades sixth, seventh and eighth. We have a very diverse student population. Our school also has a wide range of academic levels. We strive to empower all our students to grow and be the best that they can be.
I teach two groups of low incident students who need access to items to help enhance their physical education experience.
All of my students are eligible to receive both the school breakfast and lunch daily for free. Most of our school population takes public transportation.
My Project
Our special needs classes need scooter boards to modify activities and increase mobility. Students will be able to glide around the gym and play a variety of games including scooter hockey, scooter soccer, relays, noodle tag and even the hungry hippo game! The possibilities are endless.
The scooter boards will be an exciting addition to our physical education program.
Some of my students struggle with balance and the scooter will give them an opportunity to even the playing field. The large 4 inch inline skating wheels will enhance their ability to glide across the floor with ease. I anticipate that the scooters will become an all time favorite amongst our special needs students.
