Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My project includes hand sanitizer, snacks, and stickers for my students. I currently work with English Learners, meaning that all of my students speak a language other than English. Many of my students speak Spanish, but I also have students who speak other languages such as Creole, Hebrew, Russian, Dari, and Farsi.
Currently, my school does not provide hand sanitizer, and this is something that we use regularly to keep ourselves clean throughout class.
I also keep snacks in my classroom for students who have forgotten to eat breakfast or need a mid-day snack to give them the energy they need to be successful. I also give my students the opportunity to earn stickers for their accomplishments in the classroom. This keeps them motivated and excited to learn.
