Sanitized Equals Safety

My Students

My students come from a diverse array of cultural, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds. They are fun, high-energy, and have worked so hard during distance learning due to Covid 19. We are currently in a hybrid model for teaching so I see the students just 2 days a week. We also need to practice social distancing and disinfecting on an on-going basis. I want my students to build on the success that they had in the spring and see themselves as true mathematicians.

My students have demonstrated that they want to learn and they want to be successful, but we need additional resources to keep everyone healthy and safe.

It is surprising the amount of supplies we are using to keep everything disinfected. We also need additional supplies since we are unable to share resources.

My Project

I want my students to feel safe and healthy while they are at school. They participate in sanitizing the desks and chairs before the next group arrives, but this means that we are using lots of sanitizing materials.

Since we began the hybrid model of teaching, I have students just two days per week and have quickly learned what materials they need to take home to help them feel successful.

Whiteboard markers are a definite need within and outside the classroom. Each student needs to have their own marker. I also need to print resources for students to have at home.
