My Project

Hello, I am the teacher of a preschool disabilities room where all of the students have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). My classroom is the second home to 12 bright, curious students who are exploring the world through their senses. The curriculum we use in our classroom is Creative Curriculum which includes a Sand Table as a way for the children to explore natural materials, develop vocabulary, develop social/emotional skills and refine gross/fine-motor skills. We encourage the children to play inside and clean their hands prior to playing, but some children need extra time to learn routines, need extra support to keep the sand inside the table, and need support playing with it appropriately. That said, it is time to throw away our sand and replace it with clean sand. In this project, I am asking for support to provide my students with new, clean sand for the sand table.

This area is highy loved in our classroom, but since our children's developmental age ranges from 1 year to 5 years that means that the sand must be replaced to provide a clean area and enough sand for the students to enjoy.
