My Students
I teach in a low-income/high poverty school complex; my students are faced with constant challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking forward to keeping things engaging and provide them with meaningful learning experiences.
My middle school students struggle to find their place in the world.
All of them receive a free lunch based on the socioeconomic status of our school. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical."
If the opportunity to share the outside world is available to my students, I will help them see their options and see the world inside and outside of the community.
My Project
My classroom was just funded an Augmented Reality Table, but now we need the play sand to go with it. Sandtastik play sand is the best sand to model using a 3-D camera on a table. This will be the best experience for my students. There are times that getting a smaller piece of a project complete, is what is missing to make this big picture happen!
This Sandtastik play sand allows the moldable forms that the camera will need to allow my students to see various layers of a mountain or the features on the ocean floor.
This project will allow me to take them on a virtual reality field trip, and experience places they cannot envision.
