This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello, I teach kindergarten in a school which is filled mostly by children from two surrounding projects. We have a very small population, but our share of problems. The children hardly have anything at home, and especially don't have a productive way to harness their creativity.
One of the things every kindergarten class should have is a decent sand and water table. This center provides for countless ways for children to learn. Not only will they be playing, but they will be learning valuable social skills they do not gain while sitting in front of the TV every day.
They can also use the sand table as a means for exploring their environment, sensory skills, and even improve their handwriting and learn phonics. The sand table is great for everything.
I would love for my children to have every opportunity I can give them. I know what a valuable asset a sand and water table is for young children, and I want them to have the chance to explore, learn and have fun!
