My students attend pre-k at an elementary school in Minneapolis. I have two half-day classes, with a combined class size of 18. The class is culturally diverse and are currently learning online. Students are eager to learn and love to have new experiences in the classroom. As with most children this age, the more hands-on the lesson, the better. We love to read, play games, create, and explore.
My Project
My Pre-k students enjoy exploring and learning through a variety of sensory experiences. Each day students will go to our sensory table and will find a variety of materials throughout the year.
Providing a fun sensory experience while teaching important math and literacy skills prepares students for Kindergarten.
The sensory beads and noodles is a creative way to hide objects, letter, shapes, and numbers. While the Kinetic sand gives a different sensory experience while they have the opportunity to dig, build, and create! The alphabet and number bubbles combined their love of water while learning math and literacy skills.
The majority of the materials are reusable and washable which provides a sanitary and cost effective way for students to learn and explore for years to come.
