Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My preschool students are children who are three to five years of age. My school is in sunny San Pedro, California. The children from San Pedro come to school each morning ready to learn and grow. There is never a dull moment in our class; my students are busy bees moving from one interest area to another. They're eager to learn, explore, and experiment with the instructional materials and centers I set up for them. We need more materials for the children to develop awareness in the areas Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics.

My Project

My students need the Differing Abilities Paperback Library to learn about how people are different and also the same. The View from Around the World viewers will allow my students to see images of other people's countries and customs, fostering their multicultural awareness. With the Multicultural Movement Fun CD and Multicultural Rhythm Stick Fun CD, my students will hear fun and engaging diversity songs that will teach my students tolerance and respect for others. The Kids Around the World Block Play People is a set of dolls featuring children from around the world, this set will help my students explore other races and other people's ethnicity. The Wemberly Worried Read-Along Book Set will raise my students empathy skills, as they learn and hear about Wemberly Worried, a character who is experiencing a lot of anxiety on her first day at her nursery.
