Salt Life

My students need sea salt, water conditioner, aquatic plants, and a living reef set to compare and contrast the life in fresh and salt water.

My Students

Many of my students live in poverty and most have unstable home lives. Despite that, they are curious, wonderful little people, who are still thrilled about school and learning. I love all the questions they come up with....their little minds are like sponges.

I want them to have the best school experience possible.

I hope to create a classroom where they are free to explore and experience as many wonders as possible. Our classroom is full of animals and plants and they love it.

My Project

My students will love observing and exploring the differences between salt water animals and fresh water animals. We live in Michigan, so the water ways nearest to us are all fresh water. The kids sometimes think they will see sharks in the local river!

I want them to understand the differences and importance of fresh water systems.

With this project we will study the difference between animals and plants that live in marine and fresh water environments. I hope to encourage my students to help preserve water as I educate them about the importance of water on our earth. Hopefully they will be stewards to promote the health of our environment.
