My Project
Our middle school Autism Focus class is embarking on an exciting hands-on unit about body systems, and we need your support to make it a success! We’re requesting gardening supplies—gloves, soil, and planters—to create a small classroom garden where my students will grow vegetables. This project will help my students, all of whom are disabled, develop essential life and job skills by caring for the plants. They'll also engage in the scientific process by making predictions about which veggies will thrive and learning from the outcomes. To celebrate their hard work, we’ll end the unit by preparing and enjoying a fresh salad from the vegetables we’ve grown, teaching healthier food choices in a meaningful way. With your help, this project will nurture my students’ independence, curiosity, and connection to the world around them.
