Sail Cars for Energy Exploration

Help me give my students sail cars for our science unit on Energy Exploration.

My Project

In fourth grade we use science and engineering to explore different types of energy and the ways that energy transfers.

Our vision is that students can use sail cars to expand their critical thinking skills and creativity to develop working models and solutions for using wind energy.

This project will enhance our students' deeper understanding of energy transfer through hands-on learning and experimentation. Students will develop perseverance and the ability to learn and grow from failure and to build upon success as they design different types of sails for their cars. They will test their sails using hair dryers to simulate wind energy.

We are continually working to add STEAM activities to our classroom and these materials will benefit many students in many different ways for years to come!
