My Students
I work with an average of 35 students who reside in temporary housing. These students are not exposed to the same advantages and resources as students who are not in temporary housing such as lunch boxes, coats, hat, scarfs, or toys.
My Project
I am a school social worker who works with students in temporary housing. The items such as snacks, bean bag chair, hand sanitizers, and mask will help my students stay safe through this high spread of COVID19 variants. Also, often times, my students need a snack throughout the day because they are hungry and I want to be able to provide snacks for them. Additionally, I have carpet area in my room where the bean bag can be placed for a calming/mindfulness corner for a student who needs emotional support.
