My Students
My students come from a very low-income/high needs environment. The school is a Title I school in Philadelphia where 100% of our students are eligible for free meals. Many of my students are performing well below grade level.
I am looking to make learning science fun, safe, and interactive, because I believe all students have the right to learn and succeed.
In order to make sure students have the ability to learn, they just need a safe environment and the resources to learn.
My Project
In order to learn science, students must participate actively in hands-on labs! Many students in my class have never participated in science labs.
My students will learn the importance of lab safety and practice safe methods through ALL science labs.
The lab will be a safe environment for experiments with the addition of an eye wash station and a fire extinguisher. All students will also be given aprons and gloves for use during labs.
My 7th graders will be exploring Astronomy and Physics. My 8th graders will be exploring Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science. My students will leave my classroom with a love and strong understanding of science!
