Our preschool class is in desperate need of new coat/bookbag cubbies. The current cubbies we have are broken and cannot support the children's coats or bookbags. They constantly fall down onto the children. I've tried to fix them, but I haven't been unsuccessful. The dividers have hooks on them and I'm afraid of one of the shelves hitting them hard and injuring them. We are part of a public school district and unfortunately, we have been told by our district that there is no funding to buy any replacement furniture.
Safety comes first in our classroom; we must feel safe when we come to school!
This is essential for learning. If a child doesn't feel safe, they won't want to come learn. These children are the sweetest and brightest kids. Every day they come with a smile, ready to learn, and full of love. They want to be here! They need to be here! We are an inner-city district where many of our kids get the most love and attention while they are at school. Those whose family lives don't provide the basic need of feeling safe. Please help provide them with this simple tool so that they may continue to succeed and overcome the obstacles they face on a daily basis.
