Help me give my students the opportunity to be cared for with dignity and respect. My special education students are more prone to have incidents like falls or scrapes. Having safety kit/resources immediately available is imperative.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My special education students are more prone to have a fall due to lack of balance or various medical conditions. Safety kits and ice-packs are resources that they go through very quickly. The school cannot always replenish these essential items and I try my best to replenish as needed. However, there is a huge need for both my special education students and general education students. We are currently making our own ice-cubes at the school and using reusable plastic bags, etc.. Students clothing get wet and it is an uncomfortable practice for them. They all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect when it comes to their personal and safety care. One kit will be for the classroom and one will be for field-trips. Help me fund this project to help them feel better while meeting their safety needs.
