This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My dual-language Spanish class is made up of 13 low-income students, 6 girls and 7 boys. I have 13 English language learners who need a total physical response and other visual and auditory scaffolds to increase their English language development. The rest of my students have reclassified English learners. As a 1 to 1 iPad school, the students have become literate in utilizing multiple applications like iMovie and Keynote. They are enthusiastic and highly motivated by technology, which is enhancing their learning tremendously.
My Project
Our new reality during Covid requires students and teachers to be extra vigilant.
Please help provide my students with Clorox wipes, clear masks for safe preventive measures.
Also a plexiglass for safe testing and microphone for clear instruction. Parents cannot afford to provide some of the items. The school provides some measures, but not enough. We have adjusted to our new normal by diligently maintaining our classroom clean.
We are provided with some supplies, but not enough to consistently clean our work areas and materials shared with others.
I need plexiglass to help me assess students accurately and safely. I was provided with a low-quality microphone, and I need a better one to help my students listen to my voice. Also, the see-through masks will help students see my lips as I am enunciating sounds or words. Would you please help me provide a safe learning environment for my students?
