This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students in my classroom come from differing backgrounds, but all of them bring unique personalities to our community of learners. My students come from low-income/high poverty homes, and with that comes different challenges. As their teacher, it is my duty to provide the safest and warmest environment for them to have their best opportunities for learning. My students need me to be more than just their teacher. Sometimes I'm a nurse, counselor, friend, mom, or superhero, and with that, I strive to help my students in any way possible.
My Project
Today, March 15th, was my students first day back in the school building since a year ago. I am teaching half my class in person while simultaneously teaching the other half online. I've noticed many of my students don't have masks that fit their faces properly and are therefore constantly touching their faces and masks to pull them back up. I would like to give my students child-size masks that are also reusable. I also purchased each of my students their own personal hand sanitizer, but I know these will run out soon.
