My students need a rolling scaffolding which is safe way to paint on 10 ft. walls, especially if they are to continue to beautify the whole school.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students that I have this year all have IEP's and have special Ed services for various learning disabilities. My class is a Maker class. A maker class is a place where students get to explore many different means of making art, machines, computer programming, and anything else we can come up with. If my students or I can think of it then we will do our best to make it real.
Mural painting is now a permanent part of the maker class due to the positive feedback from students and staff about our first successful project.
My students now want to paint the entire school! They all say it is a nice school but it currently has a drab and uninspired feel. My current 8th graders now do not just see brown walls but a series of blank canvases, on which their voice and culture can be shared with the school community.
My Project
Having a rolling scaffolding available to my students allows them to be safely elevated to paint on the highest walls of our one story school (9.5 ft.) Last year we completed a mural on the wall outside my classroom. Using step stools and ladders worked but it was far from making our work site the safest it can be.
Besides safe elevation, this scaffolding gives the user a good surface area on which to place materials by their sides as they sit and paint.
The structure is also foldable and easy to store and set up. We can become more efficient and safer with this mural painting equipment.
