This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come into my classroom everyday eager to start a new experiment or learn about a new science concept! They are a very motivated group of individuals with a passion for the world of science and they are always prepared to engage in a rigorous science experience.

My students come from a low-income neighborhood where resources are not abundant.

They are hardworking students who want to succeed in life to help their families and to create a brighter future for themselves. Most of my students come from Latino backgrounds and they value their education greatly. Many of them are new to the country and are learning to adapt in their new school. My school is fortunate enough to have wonderful science kits and technology equipment to help us get through our academic day. But we suffered budget cuts that prevent us from having all the materials needed for a successful science laboratory.

My Project

With the requested materials, my students will be able to do their science experiments without worrying about their safety. They will have the adequate resources needed to perform some of the chemical experiments we have in our curriculum. With our materials my students will learn the value of safety when conducting experiments and will understand how scientists feel when they conduct experiments in their own laboratories.

With your generosity my classroom will feel more like a real-world laboratory.

Students will get to experience what the world of science has to offer them and spark their interest in pursuing a science career later in life. With the donations given to our project we will be closer to creating our own laboratory where we will get to explore even deeper into the world of science...in a safe manner!
