This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a Title I school, my students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite their setbacks, this group is eager and excited to learn and grow and succeed as members of their community and as Dual Language students. As their classroom teacher, I want to make sure I am able to provide as many resources and opportunities that they may not have access to due to their family's socioeconomic status or other factors that are beyond their control.
My Dual Language students are some of the most hard-working group of individuals I have had the privilege of knowing, despite the setbacks and hardships they face out of the classroom.
These students are being challenged and exposed to new experiences each day. I want to be able to provide the proper tools to aid their growth and keep their spark alive in the classroom. I want them to know that I believe in all 50 of them and what they are capable of.
My Project
These desk shields will be used in the classroom during all instructional time as well as the in-class lunch period when masks come off in order to provide extra protection and safety to all.
Students in my classroom will feel more secure and these shields will hopefully aid in reducing the anxiety of being back in school with their peers and teachers.
I want the students returning to the classroom to know that their well-being and safety is being thought of and considered every step of the way and that our classroom is always carefully curated to their needs.
