Safer Saw for Welding Students

Help me give my students a band saw for a safer and more effective way to cut metal for their projects.

My Project

This band saw will help our welding students as they cut metal to complete their projects. It will provide an effective, modern method of cutting steel to these students. This saw will help us cut pipe, square tubing, U-channel, and many other types of metal stock.

Most importantly, this project will give students an added layer of safety as they develop valuable skills in the school shop.

It will help us avoid the shower of sparks and steel shavings our old chop saws give us, which will help avoid metal filings in our eyes and a potential fire hazard.
