My name is Ms. Petersen and my kinders are preparing to return to the classroom in March after learning remotely this school year. This school year has been anything but usual and has brought with it some extra needs for the classroom. While I am so so excited to see my Kindergarteners in person, I am lacking some essential supplies to keep them safe and socially distanced. Kindergarten students are just beginning to learn the concept of personal space. Although there has been much discussion about COVID and social distancing, students have been building social relationships virtually and upon return to school are eager to further nurture those relationships.
My Project
My district is getting ready to go back to in person learning after being online all of this year. For many of my students this will be their first school experience. Supplies are limited at my school so I want to ensure that I have enough hand sanitizer and masks to keep my students healthy and safe.
My top priority is to keep my students safe while still allowing them to experience what kindergarten is all about.
To ease parents anxiety, comply with CDC guidelines, keep the learning environment safe and provide students with a visual cue for social distancing, premium desk shields will be a welcome addition to my classroom. Bins will be used for individual supplies and students will need headphones to use with their tablets.
