This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school serves the community of South San Francisco. Many of my students come from low-income families, and many come from immigrant parents.
My students are excited learners and kind humans.
They are also extremely resilient. Due to our Covid19 pandemic, all of my students (then in Kindergarten) and their families had to navigate distance learning. In Fall, my students, now all 1st graders, will be returning to a school that will look and feel foreign to them. I am determined to make their learning experience a positive one, no matter what challenges and obstacles we face together.
My Project
My students are going to be returning to school in Fall to a new normal. In order to stay healthy and adhere to our new health guidelines, students will not only be expected to keep a distance from one another, they will not be able to share any school supplies. I want to set my students up for success by providing them their own organizational tools.
My goal is for each student to have their own school supplies, cubbies, take-home pouches, book bins, and their own supply boxes.
Once students have their own individual supplies and organizational tools, they will be able to focus on their learning and hopefully feel some version of normalcy. Thank you for considering my project! Stay safe and healthy.
