My Project
Our students are preschoolers, ages 3 to 5, learning and growing in a bustling elementary school environment. Over 60% of our students receive special education services and benefit from individualized support throughout their day. They face unique challenges, and navigating our large school building safely and efficiently is one of them.
We are requesting a 6-child buggy to help transport our students safely and comfortably through our school.
From classroom transitions to shared spaces like the cafeteria, gross motor spaces, and transportation to buses, this buggy will allow us to support our students’ physical needs while encouraging inclusion and access to all school areas.
Currently, many of our students struggle to walk long distances or stay with the group. This makes transitions slow, stressful, and sometimes unsafe. A multi-child buggy will reduce fatigue, prevent elopement, and ensure all students, especially those with mobility or sensory challenges, can participate in their full day with dignity and joy.
I recently received a 6-child buggy from a Donors choose project, and it has been a game changer for our students and program. It has increased our students’ independence, decreased anxiety during transitions, and allowed our staff to focus on engaging students rather than managing logistics. Most importantly, it ensures that every child, regardless of ability, can safely access all parts of our school and all the opportunities that come with it. We are now facing struggles with having enough seats available for students who need to access it. I’m creating a second Donors Choose with the hopes that all of our students can access safe transportation throughout our building!
Your support will make a direct and lasting impact on our youngest learners and help us keep every child safe, included, and supported every step of the way.
