My Students

Our students come from a community that has been struggling over the past few years. The town itself has been shrinking as we are in a rural community. As a result, funding for youth projects is continuing to dwindle, which means that we are not able to provide as many opportunities for our students as we would like.

COVID-19 has severely impacted our students' relationships with school.

Many of our students struggle with a distance learning atmosphere, which is why we are doing everything that we can to keep them in the classroom. With that being said, a number of supplies are necessary in order to maintain that ability.

My Project

As a result of COVID protocols we have required additional seating in our classrooms in order to properly adjust for social distancing measures. With these measures in place, the folding tables that we are currently using for our science lab are in need of an upgrade and replacement with appropriate science lab tables.

These tables would provide a much safer environment for our classroom as they are much easier to clean/disinfect in case of a chemical spill, or even cleaning in between classes.

Additionally, it would give us an opportunity to provide more seating that is properly spaced.
