My Project
My classroom is filled with incredible learners who experience many big feelings, emotions and experiences. I am wanting to create a safe space in my classroom that my students can use to calm down and reset when they are experiencing any of these things. Noise Canceling headphones will allow them to block out distractions and focus on themselves. The weighted lap pad will help to ease anxiety, and they will have a variety of items to choose from to help themselves regroup and prepare their minds for learning. The timers will be used to help students learn to self monitor so they can set a time for themselves and join with their classmates when they are ready.
My students deserve to have a space where they can learn emotional strategies to help them be successful individuals and learners.
